The Financial Conduct Authority has delayed further work on so-called non-financial misconduct to ensure a “proportionate” approach, as pressure mounts on the regulator to tackle a rise in bullying and sexual harassment cases in the City.

The regulator launched a landmark review into sexual harassment, bullying and discrimination early last year. Lawmakers called for an end to the “era of impunity” for offenders as allegations against notable City figures — including hedge fund boss Crispin Odey — hit the headlines.
