A top dealmaker at Kirkland & Ellis is departing the law firm to help lead the global mergers and acquisitions practice at Paul Hastings in New York. 

Eric Schiele, a corporate M&A partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis, is expected to start at Paul Hastings this month, executives told The Wall Street Journal. He will serve as global co-chair of M&A alongside Eduardo Gallardo, also in New York.
