Gender equality among board roles at the stock exchange firms that underpin financial markets remains low, despite the industry's commitment to ESG goals, which require fair gender representation among their boards.

In a survey conducted by the World Federation of Exchanges, 42 out of 49 exchanges have made a formal commitment to sustainability, but only 37% of exchanges indicated they have targets for female representation in the workplace.
