Women over the age of 50 are leaving the UK fund management industry at a faster rate than their male colleagues, with parental caring responsibilities and menopause cited among potential reasons for their exits.

According to a report by trade body the Investment Association, while women make up 41% of the total UK asset management workforce, those between 50 and 64 years of age account for just 8%.
