Wells Fargo employees are forming the first union inside a major US lender since the dawn of the modern megabank.

Eight employees at a branch in Albuquerque, New Mexico, voted 20 December on whether to organise. Five voted in favour and three voted against, according to a tally by the National Labor Relations Board. The NLRB will finalise the results if no one objects to the election within five days.
