
City of London authorities want to breathe fresh life into an historic part of the Square Mile — including giving it a new name that could help make it a destination for tourists and office workers alike.
Members of the City of London Corporation’s planning committee meet next week to give the go-ahead to a public consultation about improvements to what it calls the Eastern City Cluster, covering the areas around Bishopsgate, Leadenhall Street and St. Mary Axe, which is home to several insurance firms.
