Von Mueffling assets hit $7.5bn

William von Mueffling, the fund manager who left Lazard Asset Management in 2003, prompting an exodus of its hedge fund assets, is running $7.5bn (€6.2bn) at his new business – more than twice as much hedge fund money as his former employer.

Cantillon Capital Management, which Von Mueffling set up after leaving Lazard, has $7.5bn in 14 accounts, according to registration papers filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
