US fund managers to take bonus hits from ‘Red October’

Survey of more than 1,000 money managers finds bonuses expected to rise 5% this year — but it would have been more

The surge in market volatility during the past few weeks will probably affect the bonus payments awarded to US investment management professionals this year, warns a report by Greenwich Associates, the consultancy.

According to the annual study, based on responses from more than 1,000 US-based finance professionals and data from Johnson Associates, the pay consultancy, bonuses for asset management staff are predicted to rise by approximately 5% this year.
