US firm launches arbitrage mutual fund for bids and deals

Pennsylvania Avenue, a US firm, has become one of the first traditional asset managers to launch a mutual fund focusing on investment opportunities arising from mergers and acquisitions.

Mutual funds have typically shied away from so-called merger arbitrage investing seeing it as a potentially risky business better left to hedge fund managers.
