UniCredit is "investing significantly" in dealmaker hires as part of a broader overhaul of its business under chief executive Andrea Orcel.

The Italian lender is hiring bankers in equity capital markets and M&A, Orcel told journalists during a call outlining a new strategic plan that will see €1.5bn in cost reductions and a push towards digitalisation.
