UK’s first P2P lender wins full banking licence

The milestone follows a race to secure regulatory funds to keep its provisional licence last year

Zopa, the world’s oldest peer-to-peer lending platform, has at last been granted a full banking licence by UK regulators.

The fintech firm first announced that it would pursue the licence in November 2016 and was given provisional permissions in December 2018.
