UK law’s profit surge slows as M&A drought drags on boom years

Profits at UK law firms are being squeezed amid a high-inflation environment, early reporting from the sector’s 2022-23 financial year suggests.

A global fall in M&A activity combined with high inflation and intense competition on pay in the sector looks to be taking its toll on partner profits.
