UBS is looking to break into the top six investment banks for equity capital markets after a hiring spree and shake-up of the unit over the past year.

The Swiss bank has upped its ambitions for its ECM business globally after bolstering its team through the acquisition of Credit Suisse and a number of senior hires in recent months.
