The heads of the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority were grilled this morning about the influence that they exerted on high-profile figures at Barclays to resign in the wake of Liborgate.
Sir Mervyn King, governor of the Bank of England and Lord Turner, chairman of the FSA, faced the UK Treasury Select Committee on Tuesday, where they were questioned about the resignations of Barclays chairman Marcus Agius - who was later reinstated - and then chief executive Bob Diamond.
