Baillie Gifford partner James Anderson will retire next year after nearly four decades with the Edinburgh-headquartered asset manager.

The veteran fund manager, who joined in 1983 and became partner four years later, will also step down as joint manager of the Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust at the end of April.
