TradeWeb to launch swaps venture

TradeWeb, the bond trading platform owned by information firm Thomson Corporation, is to launch a new system for trading interest rate swaps. JP Morgan, the biggest single dealer in the swaps market, has signed up to be a market maker.

The move could radically transform the swaps market, which has been slow to shift into an electronic environment.
