The sigh of relief was almost audible last week following the news that Tarek Mahmoud is leaving his role as co-head of capital markets at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

Nothing against Mahmoud, but even DrKW insiders admit it didn't make much sense to have a single co-head of the division, particularly considering that he reported to Steve Bellotti, head of capital markets.
