Threat to Goldman and JP Morgan in Gold Fields fight

Mining group calls in Andisa Capital as additional adviser

Gold Fields, the South African gold producer fighting off a hostile takeover from smaller rival Harmony, may be forced to drop JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs, its defence advisers, following a ruling from South Africa's Securities Regulation Panel.

The Securities Regulation Panel, South Africa's financial regulator, said in a statement that JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs are not "appropriate external advisers" to Gold Fields.
