Pessimists say cuts to asset management fees will hurt remuneration - the optimists are not so sure

The pressures on fund managers may not hit their pay packets

Bankers no longer scoop the pool. Since the financial crisis the pay gap between investment bankers and asset managers has narrowed dramatically. On some figures it has gone completely.

But will this last? Pessimists say the trend could easily reverse as central banks withdraw stimulus, deflating the asset bubble, and pressure on management fees puts more focus on costs.
