By exposing security flaws and offering insight into the characters of top execs, the Barclays and Bank of England prankster has done the City a service

So the email prankster has struck again, this time at the very top of the Bank of England. Should the City  of London be on its guard and condemn a person who is clearly fishing for controversy? No, it should thank him.

Other than wounded pride, there will probably be little downside for Barclays chief executive Jes Staley and Bank of England governor Mark Carney in falling for an email trick that, frankly, could catch anyone out.
