The two candidates vying to become the UK's next prime minister have doubled down on their plans to slash red tape across financial services.

Speaking to an audience of some 6,000 Conservative Party members at Wembley Arena in north-west London, both Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss pledged to reduce the regulatory burden on the City in the wake of Brexit.
