When State Street’s asset management business announced Ann Prendergast’s promotion six months ago, one comment on her LinkedIn profile described the move as “great news for the industry, for Ireland [and] for women”.

Dublin-based Prendergast was named head of the US custody bank’s asset management business across Emea in November. The move means she works closely with global chief executive Yie-Hsin Hung, who was appointed to the top job in December 2022.
