Softbank invests in BT's Brightstar creation

Softbank UK Ventures, the $450m (€490m) new technology venture capital fund, has invested £7m (€11.17m) in Venation, the biggest company so far to emerge from British Telecommunication's Brightstar, the incubator set up to commercialise BT's store of patents.

The investment by Softbank UK Ventures, which has internet investors Softbank Corp and News Corps' ePartners as lead investors, is a vote of confidence in Brightstar's project.
