SocGen names head of global M&A

A former JP Morgan managing director, who joined Société Générale last year, has been promoted to global head of mergers and acquisitions as the French bank seeks to reinvent itself as a significant force in M&A.

Thierry D'Argent, currently a managing director and member of Société Générale's M&A executive committee, was head of M&A at JP Morgan's investment banking business in France between 2001 and 2008.
