Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has appointed Bill Main as chief executive.

Main joined Scottish Widows in 1993 as group finance director and then became deputy chief executive. He was previously a non-executive director of Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, having held this position with Scottish Widows Investment Management.
