Schroders, Abrdn CEO succession: CFO elevations signal greater scrutiny on costs

Listed groups have appointed chief financial officers to take over two of the biggest jobs in UK fund management

Schroders and Abrdn have completed their respective searches for new chief executives, with both UK-listed fund groups selecting finance chiefs to lead from the top.  

Edinburgh-headquartered Abrdn announced on 10 September that former Aviva and Persimmon executive Jason Windsor will become CEO of the £506bn asset manager, having been in the role on an interim basis since May following the departure of Stephen Bird.
