Royal Bank of Scotland rebrands to NatWest Group

Chief executive Alison Rose said the name change marked a ‘historic’ and ‘symbolic moment’

The Royal Bank of Scotland has officially rebranded to NatWest Group, as the lender embarks on a corporate strategy overhaul designed to help it move on from the past scandals that tainted its name.

The bank hopes the name change, combined with a number of new initiatives concerning the environment and supporting its customers, will mark a shift in the group’s outlook since the financial crash when the bank was rescued from collapse by a £45bn government bailout deal.
