Royal Bank of Scotland said that its first-half net loss widened to £1.99bn and warned that it faced several potential lawsuits over allegations that it tried to fix interbank lending rates.

The mainly government-owned bank said revenue fell to £11.26bn from £15.3bn a year earlier.
