RBS plugs private placement gap

The Royal Bank of Scotland has appointed a head of its private placement business following the unexpected departure of the former chief of the division.

Nicholas Bamber has been promoted to head the business and will replace Jocelyn Monk, who has quit after more than seven years of running the operation at RBS.
