Investment in renewable power and fuels in developed markets plunged nearly 30% in 2012, as fears over reduced subsidies took their toll on the sector.

Investment in clean energy in developed markets totalled $132bn in 2012, down 29% from the previous year, according to a report published this week by the United Nations Environment Programme.
