In 2020, after the murder of George Floyd by US police sparked a resurgence in the Black Lives Matter movement — as well as pledges from banks to hire more Black professionals — ‘Kwame’ was deluged with invites for coffee with headhunters and in‑house recruiters. 

A rare example of a senior Black dealmaker in the City, he made the choice to switch to a better role at a bigger bank after courting several offers.
