The New York Mercantile Exchange, the energy futures exchange, has appointed Thomas McMahon, a former Nymex board member, as director of its new Tokyo office to develop Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

McMahon was previously president of Gaslink, a natural gas futures and options trading firm on the exchange floor.
