A group of investor nuns has slammed a recent attempt by Citigroup to clarify its commitment to indigenous rights as “wholly unresponsive”, as it gears up to stage a shareholder revolt at the bank’s annual general meeting.

The bank has been embroiled in a three-year long public spat with the Sisters of St Joseph of Peace over the effectiveness of its indigenous rights policies when it comes to financing oil and gas projects.
