Northern Trust Asset Management has appointed Pedro Guazo as head of its international business, taking over from John McCareins who left the firm earlier this year.

Guazo will join the $1.3tn asset manager in August from the investment management office of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund. During his five year tenure, Guazo oversaw a 60% increase in assets as well as a build out of its private markets investments.
