Senior leaders at KPMG and Deloitte are among the City figures recognised by the government in the New Year Honours list, despite criticism of how the Big Four accounting firms have handled public contracts during the pandemic and a recent rash of scandals.

Awards were also handed out to leading players from the world of finance, key figures in the UK's Covid-19 pandemic response, and stars from sport and entertainment.
