Nearly 1,500 EU-based financial services firms seek permission to operate in the UK

The FOI figures ‘provide evidence that London is set to remain a key global financial centre’

Almost 1,500 financial services firms based in the European Union have applied for permission to operate in the UK, according to specialist financial services consultancy Bovill.

The latest figures, a result of a Freedom of Information request by the firm, indicate about a thousand among the 1,476 firms in question plan to establish their first UK office.
