A Leeds businessman with a property empire worth nearly £10m has lost his assets in a settlement with the National Crime Agency, due to his links to a wide-ranging criminal network.

The NCA said the “unexplained wealth” order, published on 7 October, was the first of its kind to be obtained solely based on an individual’s alleged involvement in serious crime.
