MPs fail to find Brexit majority as May offers to quit for her deal

MPs reject all eight of the alternative Brexit options put before them

Members of parliament have failed to find a majority for any alternative for the UK’s departure from the European Union, as Prime Minister Theresa May launches a last desperate attempt to win approval for her own preferred Brexit deal.

Following hours of debate, MPs took part on Wednesday evening in a series of so-called “indicative votes” aimed at gauging whether there is majority support for various approaches to Brexit.
