Morgan Stanley and Standard Chartered pledge combined $300,000 to Beirut relief effort

Donations follow similar moves by Bank of America, Citigroup and Goldman Sachs

Morgan Stanley and Standard Chartered have become the latest banks to pledge support for the emergency response to the deadly explosion in Beirut on 4 August.

Morgan Stanley has pledged up to $100,000 to the relief efforts by the International Red Cross following the explosions in the Lebanese capital, which killed at least 137 people and injured about 5,000 others.
