Microsoft makes debut in asset management technology

Microsoft, the computer software giant, is breaking into the business of institutional investment management technology by joining forces with Thomson Financial, a unit of Thomson Corporation and provider of financial information and technology solutions.

The two companies are creating an integrated research and analysis solution for institutional investment managers. Using Microsoft .NET, Thomson Financial is able to connect numerous streams of internal and external content.
