Michelle Obama has called for global tech giants to step up and take action against Donald Trump with a full and permanent ban on his use of social media platforms.

The former first lady of the United States said in a 7 January tweet that it is time for those who voted for Trump to "sit up and see the reality of what they've supported – and publicly and forcefully rebuke him and the actions of that mob."
