Mellon and Shinsei form Japanese joint venture

Mellon Financial Corporation, the global financial services giant, and Japan's Shinsei Bank are creating an investment management joint venture for the Japanese pensions market.

The as-yet unnamed joint venture will be an investment advisory and trust company and will launch later this year, subject to regulatory approval. Its headquarters will be in Tokyo.
