Global law firm Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw has recruited its second European political heavyweight with the appointment of Günter Burghardt, former European Union ambassador to the US.

Burghardt has just finished a five-year stint as head of the European Commission's delegation to the US in Washington, DC. He will join the firm's government affairs practice as a counsel and be based in Brussels.
