Man Group, the largest hedge fund manager in the world, is preparing to fight a patent infringement claim from futures IT firm Trading Technologies, and is believed to be blaming an independent vendor for the complaint.

A source close to Man Group said its broking subsidiary had been using software that infringed the TT patent, but dropped the system as soon as it found out the software could be in breach of the patent.
