Man Group’s chief technology officer Gary Collier says that AI-based large language models have been the most "applicable machine learning revolution" in terms of its breadth of impact on the world's largest publicly traded hedge fund.

Collier, who first got excited about a potential new face of AI in the form of ChatGPT, says he quickly realised that ChatGPT's 'hallucination' phenomenon where the chatbot presents plausible fiction as fact was an issue.
