The London Stock Exchange has raised its most IPO funding since 2007, but is facing pressure to hold onto its position at the top of the European charts amid tough competition in the wake of Brexit.

In 2021, 122 companies listed on the LSE, raising over £16.8bn, the exchange said in a 29 December note — more equity capital than the Amsterdam and Paris exchanges combined, and the most equity capital raised outside of the US and Greater China.
