Schools across London should be closed early before the Christmas break to further halt the spread of infection, the capital’s mayor Sadiq Khan has said.

In a 14 December letter to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Khan said schools should also have an immediate increase in testing provisions. This would include regular testing for asymptomatic children to all secondary schools and staff.
