London Metal Exchange head to leave

David King is to step down after 11 years as chief executive of the London Metal Exchange to pursue outside interests.

King has presided over dramatic changes at the London exchange. During his tenure, the LME has demutualised to become a for-profit exchange and is beginning to move into the era of electronic trading. Trading volumes have increased tenfold since he joined.
