The London Metal Exchange, which can trace its roots back to 1571, wants to bring its trading of gold and other precious metals into the 21st century.

The LME's aim is to pull the trading of gold and silver onto its exchange, and route the trades through its clearing house, LME Clear, which sits between buyers and sellers in the market.
