LME ‘not taking its role for granted’ after nickel crisis

The exchange is pushing through a host of reforms to try and head off more volatility, but will they work?

The London Metal Exchange says it "doesn't take its role in the industry for granted" as it fights to rebuild relationships with traders in the wake of last year's nickel market crisis.

Trading took a hammering after the LME shuttered its nickel market last March, as a surge in prices led to the cancellation of $4bn in trades.
